"PURA VIDA" means "PURE LIFE"

At least, that is the literal translation.

Here in Costa Rica, "Pura Vida" is the national slogan,
and it has many different applications, all good...

"Good morning, how are you today?"
PURA VIDA! (great thanks)

"How is your grandmother feeling after her surgery?"
PURA VIDA! (much better)

"Let's go to see that new movie tonight."
PURA VIDA! (ok, sounds like a great idea)

When used to refer to Costa Rica,
PURA VIDA means, "It couldn't get any better than this!"

That's why we call it "PURA VIDA PARADISE".

from international departure cities including Miami, Houston, Toronto and dozens more,
Costa Rica is a most accessible destination for easy vacation travel.

Costa Rica is a territory of only 51,000 square kilometers, surrounded by both the Pacific Ocean & Caribbean Sea,
at a distance from each other of only three to four hours by land or 45 minutes by air.

The Central Valley offers moderate climes year-round. Unless you are looking for Snow, Hail, or Freezing Rain,

NATURE
A tiny isthmus covering 0.03 % of the earth's surface, Costa Rica represents 6% of the world's biodiversity.
Characterized by impressive scenic beauty, it is also home to more than half of all mammal species on earth.
With its "eco-consciousness" and a consolidated system of protected areas, Costa Rica has become synonymous
with "Nature & Adventure Travel"... of course, there are lots of options for those who want to go shopping,
or just enjoy the beach!

PEACEFUL PEOPLE
Costa Rica is known as "The Switzerland of Central America" because of its social & political stability
(the oldest democracy in Central America, Costa Rica has no standing army).
The local people call themselves "Ticos", and are genuinely happy to have foreigners visit...
they will try to speak english, teach you spanish, or help you with whatever you need.

So what would you say to all that?

We'd say...
"PURA VIDA PARADISE!"
